Erasmus+ Capacity Building in the Field of Higher Education

NEuropean Commission, Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency, Erasmus+ Capacity Building in the Field of Higher Education agreed to conduct matters concerning social entrepreneurship firms that are operating in Thailand and Myanmar in the form of STEPup Project between six universities in Thailand and two universities in Myanmar. The STEPup project aims to strengthen innovative social entrepreneurship practices for disruptive business settings in Thailand and Myanmar. These two universities in Myanmar are Mandalay University and National Management Degree College. The STEPup project provides not only trainings but also supports the modern equipment to participating universities to conduct more effectively multiplier events across the stakeholders including faculty, students, local social entrepreneurs (existing & potential). The STEPup project lasts from 2020 January to 2023 January.

To achieve those objectives, NMDC implemented the actions during the project period: NMDC academic staff and students participated in all trainings ( Training 1, Training 2, Training 3 and Training 4) provided by the project. Two multiplier events where NMDC academic staff shared what they learnt during the project trainings to local social enterprises and those who are interested in social enterprises were conducted. Moreover, NMDC Knowledge Hub was established in NMDC as a unique place for knowledge sharing and conducting activities for social enterprises. Roll out test event for the equipment that furnished NMDC Knowledge Hub was also hold by inviting the local stakeholders.

Using the modern equipment provided by the project, ten vocational trainings were effectively provided by NMDC academic staff intending to assist local social entrepreneurs by sharing relevant social enterprises theories and innovative practices that they need to understand to solve the issues they are currently facing. Moreover, to build a stronger cooperation between the university and public, the STEPup project has the participating universities conduct the local case challenge competition event and accordingly NMDC hold the local case challenge contest and raise the winner.
