National Management Degree College and School of Journalism, Yunnan University held a virtual signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 9th May, 2022 Principal of National Management Degree College and Professor and Head of Journalism Department on Myanmar side and Dr. Fang Jingyun, Professor and Principal of Yunnan University and Mr. Liao Shenqing, Professor and Head of School of Journalism, Yunnan University on China side signed MOU.
The signing of this MOU aims to strengthen the academic exchanges and research cooperation in promoting respective capacity building, mutual cooperation and academic and students exchanges between the National Management Degree College and School of Journalism, Yunnan University.
The virtual signing ceremony was held on Zoom online meeting. Principal of National Management Degree College first gave a welcome speech, and Mr. Liao Shenqing, Professor and Head of School of Journalism, Yunnan University offered brief remark. After the two sides introduced the faculty members who participated in the virtual signing ceremony, Principal and Mr. Liao Shengqing signed the MOU and exchanged the souvenirs.
The virtual student exchange ceremony between National Management Degree College,Myanmar and School of Journalism, Yunnan University, China was held on 17th March, 2023 via Zoom. In the ceremony, Principal of National Management Degree College, Dr. Ni Lar Myint Htoo delivered a welcome speech and Professor Liao Shengqing, Dean of School of Journalism, Yunnan University gave brief remark on the mutual cooperation.
After taking the group photos, the students of Journalism Department from National Management Degree College and School of Journalism, Yunnan University did their presentations. The students from National Management Degree College were divided into three groups and each group presented individual topics named, “Evolution of Newspapers in Myanmar”, “Radio Broadcasting Service in Myanmar” and “Television channels in Myanmar.” Then, the three groups of students from Yunnan University’s School of Journalism also presented about “How do young Chinese get news?”, “Does television still have a future?” and “Will the AI anchors replace the human anchors?”.
The two sides exchanged the views and ideas in the comment and discussion sessions and the participants talked about the media industry of Myanmar and China and media transformation in the digital era.
